Give me one reason I shouldn’t quit this mess? I’m burned out, and I’ve lost my motivation to go on! Just one reason—that’s all I need!

I sensed the Lord answer my question with one word and a question.

Me. Will you hold on for me?

Facing my fears and finding my way. The answer hit my heart like a lightning bolt from heaven. How can I refuse the One who gave His life for me and offers me the power and strength to go on?

Yes, Lord, I will hold on for You. [I bow my head.] Please forgive my doubt and discouragement. But I do need clear direction and hope for the future. I’ve wasted a lot of opportunities and time because of fear and unbelief. Is there hope for me?

I remember the story of another struggling believer in 2 Corinthians 12:9.

Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong” (NLT).

Then, a scripture comes to mind: “I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished . . . ” (Phil. 1:6 NLT)

Are you ready to quit? Remember this powerful promise from God’s Word.

We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair . . .

That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day . . . (2 Cor.  8-18 NLT)

Another day in the life of a believer who lost her way . . . .

Life gets messy at times. But the Lord promises to help us. We just need to ask Him. He’s always listening.

“God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble” (Ps. 46:1 NLT).

Have you ever wanted to just quit?
